SME Relationship Manager, Corporate Banking Division

The Bulgarian Development Bank (BDB) is a state-owned credit institution that was founded in 1999. With a primary focus on supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), BDB plays a vital role in the Bulgarian banking sector.

Our Corporate Banking team of Relationship Managers provides a range of solutions designed to help small and medium-sized businesses reach their potential. We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as Relationship Manager

Your key responsibilities:

Under the guidance of the Team Leader or the Corporate Banking Department manager:

  • Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing SME clients, understanding their financial needs, and providing value-added advice and guidance. Prioritize finding new business opportunities and build relationships with prospective SME clients;
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis of SME clients including assessment of income and cash flow statements, as well as balance sheets, preparing financial projections. Prepare comprehensive credit proposals, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information. Subsequently, present the credit proposals to the appropriate approval committees. Portfolio Performance and Monitoring: Monitor and control the overall performance and quality of the SME loan portfolio. Identify potential risks and take proactive measures to mitigate them, ensuring compliance with bank procedures;
  • Market Awareness: Stay up-to-date with external factors that may influence domestic and international businesses, including economic conditions, regulatory changes, and industry trends.

Your qualification:

  • University degree in Finance, Economics, or Business Administration;
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with corporate/SME clients or product development, preferably in a financial institution;
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to effectively engage with clients and stakeholders;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, enabling you to make informed business decisions based on data and market trends;
  • Sales mindset, with a proactive approach to identifying and pursuing new business opportunities;
  • Strong planning and organizing skills, allowing you to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
