At the end of 2025 Bulgarian Development Bank continued its consistent corporate social responsibility policy by supporting a number of socially significant causes in aid of children, families, and vulnerable groups in the country. Traditionally, the bank's efforts are focused on initiatives supporting children's health, education, and social services.
Among the main initiatives is the participation of BDB in the national campaign "Bulgarian Christmas", which is held under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria and supports the treatment and rehabilitation of children with serious illnesses by providing high-tech medical equipment for medical institutions.
The bank also joined UNICEF's Christmas campaign "For Every Child", aimed at providing care in a family environment, protecting children who have suffered violence, and providing access to inclusive education, including for children with speech difficulties.
Support was also provided to the For Our Children Foundation, which has been working for more than 30 years on early childhood development, prevention of abandonment, and support for families with children aged 0 to 7. Every year, thousands of children, parents, and specialists pass through the foundation's early childhood development complexes, where they receive targeted support. In 2025, the bank once again took part in the foundation's traditional campaign, "This Christmas, you make the miracles happen!"
Through the St. Nicholas National Fund, BDB supported five social services in different regions of the country - transitional housing, community support centers, and family-type accommodation centers - with the aim of ensuring a dignified holiday season for children, the elderly, and people with disabilities.
We continued our long-standing partnership with SOS Children's Villages Bulgaria under the "Support for Independent and Self-Sufficient Living" program, which helps young people who have grown up without parental care in their transition to independence through education and professional training.
Our new partner is the Association for Children – 2017, which is the basis behind the social enterprise garden "Inspiration" in the town of Bozhurishte. There young people with disabilities take care of plants as part of a therapeutic and educational process. This model supports the development of skills, builds confidence, and provides opportunities for adapted work activities. The BDB donation is part of the amount for equipping a professional kitchen where young people can learn to cook, apply everyday skills, and develop independence. Through its participation in these initiatives, the Bulgarian Development Bank confirms that corporate social responsibility is a lasting commitment to support communities, promote integration, and create sustainable solutions for the benefit of society.
