Supporting disadvantaged people and contributing to their successful integration into society represents a large part of BDB’s philosophy. Therefore, the Bulgarian Development Bank sponsors the establishment of a dedicated center for children with special educational needs at "Winnie the Pooh" Kindergarten in Stara Zagora.

The institution was opened in early 2015. It is one of the few places where a mixed type of education for children with special educational needs (SEN) and children without developmental problems is carried out. This method is extremely useful for the educational and social progress of children with deficits and contributes to their successful integration. 32 of a total of 100 children in the kindergarten have special educational needs. Supported by BDB, they already have a special room for additional work, which will further their emotional and intellectual growth and contribute to their integration in the learning process.
