The company produces an artificial intelligence system that helps professional teams monitor the condition of their players and stay ahead of the game
Can artificial intelligence intervene in football and make the game even more spectacular? The Capital Investments Fund (CIF) of the Bulgarian Development Bank Group will invest BGN 4 million in the innovative company Barin Sports.
It is the inventor of a high-tech portable device that shows in real time the physical condition of the players and their performance on the field. It monitors over 12 thousand points per second from each player. After processing, the indicators are sent to the coaches and help them build successful tactics during the match. Barin Sports tactical tool is unique in the market.
The company was founded 6 years ago by a team of young Bulgarian innovators. Their mission is for technology to enable athletes to reach their full potential and have longer careers.
Currently, Barin Sports works with 6 teams from the Professional Football League and three academies, as well as the national men’s and under-21 football teams. Their customers also include foreign clubs.
The Capital Investments Fund will now take care of the development of new technologies and the faster international expansion of their business.
"We will support Barin Sports in all the difficulties it faces. Very soon the company will enter new key markets and grow. We are aware of the great need for such technologies," said Tsanko Arabadzhiev, Executive Director of BDB and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the subsidiary.
In addition to professional clubs, Barin Sports targets semi-professional and amateur organized sports. The more distant goal of the company is the development of products to increase the quality and life expectancy of the population through the development of smart sensors and flexible electronics built into textiles.
This is the seventh deal in a row by the Capital Investments Fund, which offers equity capital for the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises in the country.
