Kostadin Karanlakov has over 30 years of professional experience in the banking and financial sector, with expertise in banking services, lending, branch network management and accounting.
He has held a number of senior management positions at banking institutions. From 2018 to June 2026, he served as Director of the Sofia Financial Centre at D Commerce Bank, where he was responsible for organising, managing and overseeing the operations of the central office, including banking services, lending and deposit mobilisation.
Prior to that, he held various management positions at International Asset Bank, including serving as a member of its Management Board. A significant part of his professional career was also spent at Central Cooperative Bank, where he worked in lending and accounting.
He holds a Master's degree in Accounting and Control from the University of National and World Economy (UNWE). He has completed specialised training in international bank guarantees, documentary letters of credit, retail banking and anti-money laundering (AML), organised by Dresdner Bank, Raiffeisen Zentralbank and other international banking institutions.
