NSI and BDB to partner in research on SME financing

The Bulgarian Development Bank (BDB) has signed a cooperation agreement with the National Statistical Institute (NSI) to conduct surveys and process data related to bank financing of small and medium-sized enterprises in Bulgaria.
NSI will assist in analysing the demand for financing opportunities for the green transition and the implementation of ESG (environmental, social and governance) strategies in businesses.
The cooperation also foresees joint public events, trainings, competitions focusing on investment activity with a social, green and economic component. NSI will provide BDB with information from its statistical surveys included in the National Statistical Programme, and may support the Bank's surveys and analyses.
The joint work will improve the structuring of new guarantee and loan products targeting specific market niches, with which the Bank can support targeted companies in need, and mobilize resources in areas such as sustainable business models, strengthening exports and competitiveness of SMEs, etc.
