The Bulgarian Development Bank has been a member of the Association since 2017. The Association promotes the development of cooperation between China and the CEE countries under projects of common interest, following the principles of independent management and decision-making, as well as the independent taking of risk.  The Association intends to contribute to the expansion of the joint business, including in the field of SME support.

Other important objectives and principles are: establishing of an efficient market mechanism for financing and improvement of the financial cooperation between the 17+1 countries; increasing the economic and financial interaction between the participants; providing long-term investment and financial support for key projects in the region.
