03.05.2023 BDB opens its doors to the "Manager for a Day" Initiative
The Minister of Innovation and Growth was welcomed in the building of the Bulgarian Development Bank. However, the role of the principal, Alexander Pulev, was assumed the twelfth graders Alexandrina Peteva from the Professional High School of Economics in Varna and Anakin Ali from the Mathematical High School in Ruse. They, along with three other students from the country – Gabriela Kiryakova (12th grade, Plovdiv), Dimo Tabakov (11th grade) and Orlin Yaprakov (9th grade) from Sofia, joined the 2023 "Manager for a Day" Initiative of Junior Achievement Bulgaria.
The high school students chose to become part of the team of the Ministry of Innovation and Growth and learn more about the responsibilities and functions of the Minister, the General Secretary and the Public Relations Officer of the institution.
As principal of BDB, Alexandrina, Anakin and their colleagues also got to know the working day of the Bank's Executive Director, Ivan Cerovski. He told them briefly about his professional path and the challenges in managing the Bulgarian Development Bank. He also shared trivia related to financial investments.
"It is important not to stop gathering knowledge. For example, building your public speaking skills, which I have to do in my new position," said Tserovski, who has a master's degree in management from the Otto-von-Guericke University in Magdeburg, Germany, and has 18 years of experience in the field of banking and equity investments. He advised the "managers for a day" to read investment legend Warren Buffett's letters to the shareholders of his company Berkshire Hathaway, which are important for all experienced and novice investors. The students impressed with their activity and curiosity.
Later, they also visited the science and technology park Sofia Tech Park, where the Discoverer supercomputer is located, as well as the new prototype laboratory.
