24.06.2024 BDB participates in a forum of the European Long Term Investors Association (ELTI)
The Executive Officer of the Bulgarian Development Bank, Iliya Karanikolov, took part in a meeting of the senior executives of the European Long-Term Investors Association (ELTI) held in Brussels.
The forum discussed best practices of cooperation between national development banks and the development of joint solutions to be presented to the European institutions.
Discussions focused on the importance of encouragement banks and institutions for the EU's necessary industrial take-off, as well as on tools to address upcoming and strategically significant challenges, such as competitiveness, industrial development, security and defence.
Particular attention was paid to current topics in the European macroeconomic and geopolitical environment – financing of the defence sector, including ways of support from the European Commission.
ELTI members also discussed the implementation of the Association's new strategy, which aims to strengthen its presence in Europe and to assert the importance of development banks.
The forum was attended by management representatives of 26 encouragement institutions from France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands, Poland, the Republic of Croatia, Hungary, Slovenia, Bulgaria, as well as multilateral development banks (NIB, CEB, EIB, EIF).
