29.06.2023 BDB reports greenhouse gas emission reductions for 2022
The Bulgarian Development Bank's greenhouse gas emissions decreased by 105 tonnes of CO2 equivalent in 2022 compared to the previous year. This is according to a report analyzing the institution's carbon footprint. The main reduction is the result of reduced electricity consumption.
In the context of its overall green policy, BDB aims not only to support green projects but also to reduce its own environmental impact. To this end, the bank has developed a strategy to manage its generated emissions in partnership with the consulting company Denkstatt -Bulgaria. It includes an annual full inventory for all categories of emissions generated by BDB (direct and indirect) as well as identifying next steps to further reduce them.
