18.02.2022 BDB to support businesses against rising electricity prices
The Bank's new programme will provide up to BGN 200 thousand to finance electricity costs of companies in the crisis environment
The Bulgarian Development Bank has developed a new product to help companies with the unexpected rise in electricity prices. The bank provides them with the opportunity to defer their electricity costs for four consecutive months of their choice within 2022.
The amount of the financing will be based on the net value (after deduction of the compensation from the state) of the invoices for the electricity consumed by the companies for the period January - December 2022, and the bank can cover up to 75% of the value of the respective invoice.
The BDB will provide targeted financing to micro, small and medium enterprises from all sectors of the economy. The volume of the programme is BGN 20 million. The minimum amount of the target loan is BGN 20 000 and the maximum - BGN 200 000.
The new programme to help SMEs cope with rising electricity prices will help companies gain easier access to liquidity to cope with the crisis. The measure is a response to the difficulties experienced by businesses forced to pay multiplying electricity bills while also suffering loss of income as a result of the pandemic.
