08.08.2022 The Capital Investments Fund of the BDB has made its first successful exit from an investment
The company M2 PROM, in which the fund had a stake, was bought by the French strategic investor "Groupe Lindera"
The Capital Investments Fund (CIF) successfully exited its investment in the furniture company "M2 PROM". This is the first successful exit of the company from the Bulgarian Development Bank Group, after the French retail space equipment giant "Groupe Lindera" acquired 100% of the company.
The Capital Investments Fund invested equity capital in "M2 PROM" in 2020. The goal of the furniture manufacturer was to establish its manufacturing in the high-end segment on the international market. The company creates equipment for global brands, including "Dior", "Swatch" and "Tissot", the hotel giant "ACCOR", boutique furniture for "Lagardère", etc.
With this financial and expert assistance, "M2 PROM" significantly increased the capacity and quality of its manufacturing. Despite the economic difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, "M2 PROM" recorded an increase in its sales revenue, generating a nearly 5 times larger turnover, reaching BGN 6,777,000 in 2021.
The company was able to build a new manufacturing facility and to purchase the latest generation of design and order fulfillment software, creating 18 new jobs for highly qualified staff. CIF’s support has helped it deliver more complex and large-scale projects for some of the biggest names in the fashion, manufacturing, hospitality, and food and beverage industry.
After the acquisition by the French owner, "M2 PROM" will continue its growth, and future products will continue to bear the "Made in Bulgaria" mark.
The Capital Investments Fund from the BDB Group was established in 2018 with a capital of BGN 65 million. The company participates in the capital and supports the development of the companies "Kolev & Kolev", "Decibel", IPS ("International Power Supply") and "Econic One".
