21.12.2023 Rosen Karadimov: This year BDB has granted BGN 130 million to Bulgarian business
“The function of the Bulgarian Development Bank is to be the transmission that will provide financial resources to banks and non-financial institutions in order to reach end customers”. This was emphasized by the Chairman of the bank’s Supervisory Board, Assoc. Prof. Rosen Karadimov, in the program “More of the Day” on the Bulgarian National Television.
He added that this year BDB has granted BGN 130 million to small and medium-sized enterprises in the country.
“Under the Recovery Programme, 3000 loans amounting to BGN 630 million were granted, of which BDB guaranteed 80% or BGN 510 million to the banks that provide the final funds to the borrower,” Karadimov pointed out.
He also focused on the collateral possibilities provided by the National Guarantee Fund. For the 15 years since its establishment, the BDB’s subsidiary has supported 12 000 Bulgarian companies, and the guarantees issued by it are at the amount of BGN 3.3 billion.
“If BDB looks different now than it did a year ago, then we have achieved our goal,” said the Chairman of the bank’s Supervisory Board, according to whom it has gained the confidence of businesses.
In the opinion of Rosen Karadimov, this is also due to the creation of the Advisory Council to the Supervisory Board of BDB, which participated in the development of the key lending instrument for accelerated disbursement of European funds and other facilitations for the Bulgarian business. This mechanism allows for a quick procedure, low collateral and a direct connection with BDB, and provides equal application conditions for small companies without working capital and large companies.
