02.04.2024 The Bulgarian Development Bank will accelerate the implementation of projects for energy efficiency of buildings
The bank will provide working capital financing for builders who will renovate buildings whose contracting authority are state and municipal institutions
The Bulgarian Development Bank (BDB) will support the implementation of measures from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) and projects under the European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF). The bank will provide working capital financing for construction companies that have signed a Contract with Beneficiaries of projects approved for a grant.
Under Direction 1 - for the implementation of energy efficiency projects, for which state institutions and municipal administrations are the Contracting Authority, construction companies can benefit from a credit facility of up to 70% of the value of the signed contract for the implementation of construction and assembly works (CAW).
Direction 2 involves projects related to the maintenance and restoration of the cultural heritage of villages, financed by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD). Churches and monasteries will be renovated under it, and builders can benefit from a loan of up to 90% of the value of the contract activities.
The goal of the programme is to support the implementation of the projects by providing resource to construction companies, who will receive payment from their counterparties only after the completion of the projects and the receipt of the grant.
The financial support of the Bulgarian Development Bank for construction companies will be expanded upon the opening of new programmes and measures under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) and the European Structural and Investment Fund (ESIF), so as to accelerate their implementation.
