One of the largest projects supported by the National Guarantee Fund is located in the village of Dolna Dikanya, Radomir Municipality.

The enterprise is European both in concept and in execution. Its core activity is the processing of fresh vegetables – potatoes, carrots, cabbage, onions – and their packaging in various formats.

The owner of the family company Eleya, Georgi Milev, shares that he launched the project to remain competitive:

“We are producers of potatoes and other vegetables. I realized that without adding some value, our production would not be competitive, since potatoes from Germany, Poland, and France are much cheaper. The products coming out of our facility are processed in a way that keeps them fresh. They are not frozen, blanched, or canned, meaning all their beneficial nutrients are preserved”.

To make things easier for consumers, after fresh and processed potatoes Eleya began producing other vegetables prepared quickly and easily, with no need for prior preparation. The company also offers a variety of salads.

The investment in the project amounts to around BGN 8 million, 50% of which was co-financed by the State Fund Agriculture. The financing was backed by a National Guarantee Fund guarantee from BDB in the maximum amount of BGN 3 million. The enterprise is also equipped with additional environmentally friendly facilities: a rooftop photovoltaic plant generating electricity for its own needs, and a wastewater treatment station built since the area lacks a sewage network. Organic waste from production is converted into methane gas, helping to reduce operating costs.

In recent years, Georgi Milev’s company has recorded sales growth. Eleya continuously expands its product portfolio to fully meet the needs of its customers and business partners.
