The Transparency Without Borders Association confirmed the good corporate governance and business integrity of the Bulgarian Development Bank (BDB). In 2023, at the initiative of the bank’s Supervisory Board and the management of the association, the two organizations signed a memorandum of cooperation in the field of anti-corruption and the introduction of additional management rules and good practices in the bank’s group.

Experts of the Transparency Without Borders Association made a detailed analysis of the internal procedures and processes in the bank and helped to upgrade and improve the system for preventing wrongdoing in the institution, as well as for managing signals for them (whistleblowing system).

The Bulgarian Development Bank and its subsidiaries follow a policy of zero tolerance for illegal or unethical business conduct. The bank is committed to creating and maintaining a culture of openness within its organizational framework, providing protection for raising concerns about wrongdoing at an early stage.

The Transparency Without Borders Association is part of the international organization Transparency International. For more than 25 years, it has been working to develop civil society and increase the anti-corruption capacity of public institutions, the judicial system, the administration at the local and national level, and business.
