04.11.2022 BDB held a webinar on energy efficiency for small and medium-sized enterprises
Bulgarian Development Bank organized an online event to present the energy efficiency program for small and medium-sized enterprises.
“BDB has taken a confident step towards green transformation. We create products that are useful to businesses and support Bulgaria's green policies,” Sofia Kasidova, Head of “Strategic and Sustainable Development” at the bank, said at the opening of the webinar.
The event was attended by entrepreneurs and representatives of institutions, who learned about the possibilities for complementary and bridge financing from BDB. The funds are intended for micro-, small and medium-sized enterprises from the processing industry, which have submitted project proposals under the procedure “Recovery of small and medium-sized enterprises by improving energy efficiency”, financed by Operational programme “Innovations and Competitiveness” (OPIC).
Iliana Andronova, Head of “Sustainable Finance and Product Positioning” at BDB, presented the benefits of the new program. It offers 100% financing of costs, VAT exclusive, the possibility of a loan before signing a grant agreement and reimbursement of costs incurred after the date of application to OPIC. The requirements on collateral have also been simplified.
Iliyana Ilieva and Kalin Marinov, heads of the “European Funds for Competitiveness” Directorate General, also participated in BDB’s webinar. They presented the possibilities for increasing competitiveness through better energy efficiency in OPIC procedures. The upcoming business support measures laid down in the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, as well as the “Competitiveness and Innovation in Enterprises” program approved last month, were also discussed.
