The bank will guarantee the good management of the hospital's debt of BGN 40 million.

The Bulgarian Development Bank is ready to grant financing to the amount of BGN 5 million to UMBAL (University Hospital) Alexandrovska EAD. This became clear after a meeting of the Supervisory Board of the BDB with representatives of the hospital. The financing will be within the approved limit for the banking group, the purpose of which is to support the state's policy for rehabilitation and development of hospitals of systemic importance for the regions.

The credit facility from the BDB will be in addition to the funds provided by the Ministry of Health to the amount of BGN 35 million. It will enable the company to settle arrears to suppliers of medicines and medical devices. The new financing will allow negotiation of more favorable commercial terms with suppliers while providing liquid funds for the operational activities of the hospital.

The BDB will also take over the process of managing the entire debt of the Alexandrovska University Hospital, which will reach BGN 40 million with the new financing. The funds will be used for investment in the purchase of modern medical equipment. It will provide the necessary conditions for the provision of quality hospital care in accordance with the standards of good medical practice and the health requirements laid down in the Bulgarian legislation.

Public Advisory Councils will be established under the Bank's Board of Directors to help increase the transparency of the institution as a guarantor of its good governance.
