BDB open call to commercial banks for InvestEU guarantee funding
The Bulgarian Development Bank has launched a process of selecting financial intermediaries and concluding agreements with them for the offering of two guarantee products under the InvestEU programme in support of small and medium-sized businesses, and to build sustainable infrastructure.
The Bank is the implementing partner for the European Commission's programme in Bulgaria, which is the EU's main instrument for investment for economic recovery, environmental progress and employment in Europe.
To support the development of small and medium-sized businesses, BDB will combine the funding of general measures to develop the competitiveness of SMEs with support for priority policies, such as green transition, innovation, digitalisation, cultural and creative industries.
The second InvestEU product will support the creation of sustainable infrastructure and will be offered in three sub-products in the area of waste, wastewater and clean air; in the intermodal transport sector; and in the water sector.
As a result of the selection process, the Bank is expected to issue guarantees of over BGN 833 million. This will help to provide loans to Bulgarian businesses amounting to over BGN 2.5 billion.
Expressions of interest for the selection of financial intermediaries can be submitted until 29 October 2024.
