05.07.2024 BDB reports greenhouse gas emission reductions in 2023
The Bulgarian Development Bank's greenhouse gas emissions in 2023 have decreased by 16 tonnes of CO2 equivalent compared to the previous year. This is according to a report analysing the Bank’s carbon footprint. The main reduction is the result of reduced electricity consumption.
In the context of its overall green policy, BDB seeks not only to support green projects but also to reduce its own environmental impact. To this end, the Bank has developed a strategy to manage the emissions it generates in partnership with the consulting company Denkstatt-Bulgaria. The strategy includes a full annual inventory for all categories of emissions generated by the Bank (direct and indirect), as well as identifying next steps to further reduce them.
