02.10.2025 Regional meetings with members of Bulgarian Industrial Association will present the financing opportunities by BDB
The Bulgarian Development Bank (BDB) and the Bulgarian Industrial Association (BIA) will expand their cooperation in support of Bulgarian business through the participation of the bank's representatives in meetings around the country with the member industry organisations. As a step to strengthen the partnership, the two sides agreed to sign a memorandum of cooperation, which will also outline other specific initiatives.
The Chair of the Supervisory Board of the Bulgarian Development Bank (BDB), Delyana Ivanova, and the Chair of the Management Board of the Bulgarian Industrial Association (BIA), Dobri Mitrev, held a working meeting to discuss opportunities for closer cooperation. Violina Nakova, member of BIA’s Management Board, also took part.
The two institutions will work together to ensure that information about the state bank’s products and programs reaches business associations and companies more effectively – especially small and medium-sized enterprises across the country. By joining regional meetings with industry chambers, BDB will provide businesses with direct access to the latest details on financing conditions, guarantee instruments, and other forms of support available.
BIA brings together more than 140 sectoral organizations, creating a strong platform for information exchange across all areas of the economy.
The discussion also focused on BDB’s dedicated programs supporting the transition to a carbon-neutral economy, with emphasis on renewable energy and energy independence. Through resources from the Council of Europe Development Bank and the European Investment Bank, BDB offers long-term investment and working capital loans for “green” enterprises and projects in renewable energy, energy efficiency, recycling, and sustainable agriculture. The financing comes under preferential terms – with maturities of up to 15 years and the option of lower interest rates.
Founded in 1980, the Bulgarian Industrial Association is a nationally representative employers’ organization that plays an active role in social dialogue and advocates for the interests of Bulgarian companies. BIA is the only Bulgarian business organization that is a member of BUSINESSEUROPE, giving its members direct representation at the European level.
