The parameters of two programs for financing military-industrial enterprises and manufacturing companies for their pre-export and export activities were discussed by representatives of national employers' organizations, leading trade unions and the National Association of Municipalities.
The BDB's strategy for the period 2024-2026 envisages support for strategic sectors of the country, including the defense and the military-industrial complex, which in the recent years have had difficulty in accessing banking services. The defense industry support program aims to provide the necessary working capital for production and export from the sector, as well as financial assistance for the planned investments.
BDB will also offer financing to companies registered in Bulgaria that produce products or services with sales outside the country. Companies will be able to benefit from both: the support for working capital necessary to produce export products or services and the financing for their investment intentions leading to stabilization or expansion of export production.
The Advisory Council to the Supervisory Board of BDB, established in 2023, aims to exercise public control over the Bank's activities, optimize the process for the creation of new financial products and provide a direct link between the BDB and the business.
