For the European Money Week 2019, the Bulgarian Development Bank launched a campaign dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the establishment of the banking system in Bulgaria.

For this purpose, a special Do we know the history of Bulgarian money brochure was made and published, which was distributed in many schools in Sofia.

Children of BDB employees also joined the initiative as "goodwill ambassadors", presenting the brochure to their classmates.The history of Bulgarian coins and banknotes in terms of design, images and denominations was presented as a story of the era in which they were issued. Through their images and symbols, different periods of economic, social and cultural development of Bulgaria could also be traced.

The main objective of the campaign was to improve the level of financial education, especially for students in primary and secondary schools.
