BDB supported the campaign of the Bulgarian Red Cross for the victims of the war in Ukraine
Bulgaria is among the countries that have opened their borders and their hearts to refugees
Everything in plans and everyday life changes when the situation is life and death. The military conflict in Ukraine is an event with grave consequences for lives and citizens not only in the country, but throughout the region. The war has forced hundreds of thousands of people to flee the borders, seeking refuge, support and shelter. Bulgaria is among the countries that have opened their borders and their hearts to refugees. One of the most pressing issues has been the accommodation of Ukrainian nationals, many of whom are mothers with children and elderly families.
The Bulgarian Development Bank has always responded to sudden and severe events causing health and humanitarian crises. The Bank reacted as soon as the first refugees arrived on our territory, holding talks with a number of institutions for the necessary support and providing BGN 50 thousand. The purpose of the donation was to cover the first 1000 nights of Ukrainians at an average cost of 50 BGN/night. We sincerely hope that we have been able to help at this difficult time, and we are grateful for the assistance of the Bulgarian Red Cross in getting our help to people in need.
