In addition to the standard set of financial instruments, the Bulgarian Development Bank offers project funding for investment projects in Bulgaria. Applicants may be both newly created project companies and existing companies with loan and financial history.
Depending on the size of the specific project and if necessary, BDB has the capacity to organize syndication or external co-funding of the loan with other financial institutions, including the European Investment Bank through the European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI).
One basic element of the evaluation of potential projects is the possibility for the project to generate cash flows sufficient for servicing the funding granted and the normal operation of the project.
The conditions of this type of funding are formed in accordance with the specifics of each project. For the initial review of the project proposals it is necessary to submit the following documents:
- A detailed business plan accompanied by a detailed financial model of the project (cash flows)
- Documentation regarding the legal, tax and financial status of the borrower and the project sponsor (investor)
- All required permits, licenses, agreements and other applicable documents related to the building and operation of the project
