Book-album „Vasil Levski“
The Bulgarian Development Bank has supported the publishing of a book-album devoted to the activity and life of Vasil Levski. The authors of the book are the General Bulgarian Committee and Foundation “Vasil Levski”. The book represents an album with paintings of the Apostle by Dechko Uzunov, Vasil Stoilov, Nikola Kozhuharov, Kalina Taseva, etc.
The album includes the first photograph of Levski, made by the photographer Atanas Karastoyanov in Belgrade. It also contains a detailed map of the Committee network organized over the period 1869 – 1876 on the territory of Bulgaria and Romania. The readers will be able to see seven personal portraits of the Apostle, photos of his home in Karlovo and other artifacts of the life of one of the most significant personalities of our modern history.
On the occasion of the 141 anniversary from the hanging of the Apostle, the Bulgarian Development Bank has donated copies of the jubilee bilingual edition to the National Library “St. Cyril and St. Methodius”, the Capital Library and the University Library “St. Kliment Ohridski”.
