Energy from the sun

Energy production and consumption have a huge impact on the climate. About two-thirds of global greenhouse gas emissions are related to the burning of fossil fuels for energy.

In fulfilling its mission in support of Bulgarian business, the Bulgarian Development Bank has always promoted the process of conversion to a circular economy, the use of alternative energy sources and the energy saving.

The bank was among the first to support plans with bank guarantees for companies to build solar parks such as the Mokresh Solar Park, Montana Solar, Solar Valchedrum and Bulgaria Solar Park.

The adoption by the Council of Ministers of the National Strategy for Adaptation to Climate Change by 2030 shows that our vision for developing the sector towards alternative sources is strategic. Failure to take action in this direction may result in financial risk and dire consequences putting a halt on economic growth by 2050.
